For use with 4 Ø32 mm geothermal probes. Converts 4 Ø32 mm pipes into 2 Ø40 mm pipes
The Ø32 mm geothermal probes differ from the Ø40 mm probes:
- The surface area of a 32 mm geothermal probe is approximately 1.6 times smaller than that of a 40 mm geothermal probe. Consequently, the Ø32 mm probes collect less heat;
- The inside diameter of the 32 mm probe is smaller than that of the 40 mm probe, which creates increased hydraulic resistance to the flow of brine.
To maximise the energy efficiency of a geothermal borehole - 2 Ø32 mm geothermal probes are installed in parallel in one borehole. This results in 4 Ø32 mm pipes coming to the ground surface.
If 4 pipes are connected to the geothermal manifold - 4 sets of couplings and cocks are needed.
If combining 4 Ø32 mm pipes into 2 Ø40 mm pipes - 2 sets of couplings and cocks are needed and the geothermal manifold is halved. This is done using the geothermal probe Y-turns, which are installed at the outlet of the Ø32 mm probes from the ground.
The Y-pipe is made of polyethylene and can be welded with welded polyethylene couplings.
